Job Description

A working manager, with specific Ariba Auction expertise, is required. The manager will help to develop and operate the exciting new Reverse Auction desk within SPS. The SPS auction desk will provide reverse auction service enterprise wide across multiple categories.

Service development focus:

The manager will work with LOBs to promote the service, identify auction opportunities, develop and manage the pipeline. As a service, the manager will develop an end-to-end auction solution includes engagement, opportunity definition, auction execution and value realization processes

Operation focus:

The Reverse Auction Desk manager will manage a team of 2-5 specialists to provide reverse auction service to all of SPS oversee the setup and execution of auction events. With a strong focus on people management, service efficiency, and hard savings

Responsibilities:

Analyze spend to identify reverse auction opportunities across different LOB, categories and spend channels

Conduct outreach program to promote the usage of reverse auction as a sourcing tool across SPS and in the LOBs

Develop category specific templates with various degree of sophistication to support different business requirements. Including templates that support non-price evaluation model

Develop and manage end-to-end auction process that deliver high customer satisfaction

Continue to develop our strong capability in the Ariba eRFx tools includes thought leadership activities, develop enhancements to support JPMC current and future needs

Develop strong partnerships with Ariba including supplier communication, periodic supplier review, issue resolution, through telephone, face-to-face and email communication channel. Interact with suppliers' senior management as part of supplier management

Contribute to governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets and comply with corporate and regulatory policies as the Ariba RFx business owner

Direct interaction but not limited to the Strategic Sourcing, LOB, Project, Asset and Finance management teams to ensure contract and financial approvals are adhered andcontinually supported

Conduct and manage multiple Reverse Auction events simultaneously including scope definition, event setup, hosting multiple live events

Develop contract and SOW for goods and services as part of value realization of auction events

Hire, train, supervise, evaluate staff proficiencies and provide career development and feedback.

Continuously review the current state of our Reverse Auction Service to ensure it aligns with overall objectives and direction of the SPS organization.

Participate in continuous learning and professional development

Travel may be required

Qualifications

Expert level knowledge of Reverse Auction in particular the Ariba's eRFx tools

6+ years of experiences in sourcing across multiple commodities such as professional services, software, IT services

A proven track record in influencing and driving change and building consensus to reach agreed upon goals and objectives between key internal stakeholders.

Ability to interact with senior level executives in all spend categories.

Logical reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills/methodology

Understand, interpret contract terms and conditions as they relate to sourcing and procurement support

Knowledge of price negotiation and conflict resolution. Able to conduct negotiation with selected suppliers

Understand concepts, standards and techniques relating to technical/legal business writing and able to work with contracts and able to QA contracts

Ability to formulate conclusions and recommend courses of action

Good oral and written communication skills

Professional designation as a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or other professional membership affiliations desired.

A Bachelor's Degree required
