Job Description
This position is better known as "teacher" throughout the
organization. This position is open in our adult facility where our
residents range in age from 22 and up. There are a total of 10
teachers in the adult facility. They are a great group of people and
have a lot of fun!
Qualifications: Qualifications for Habilitation Specialist are as follows:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

1 year experience with moderate, severe, profound mental retardation population

Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written

Excellent interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work well within a team environment

Prefer applicant who is eligible for Qualified Mental Retardation Professional designation (degreed and 1 year experience with MR population)
Job Responsibilities:

Developing, monitoring, and implementing habilitation goals for assigned residents

Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and functioning as active team member

Instructing Unit Managers and Direct Care staff in proper programming methods

Collecting relevant data; preparing and maintaining required records and
notes on assigned residents

Coordinates HDC programs with out-of-building programs to insure consistency

$15.02; Exempt position

8:30
-5, M-F or as residents’ needs require
